Introducing Hybrid Servers:

Using the latest advances in server hardware combined with industry-leading virtualization software Virtuozzo, WiredTree has created our line of Hybrid servers. These affordable fully managed servers bring performance and reliability features normally only found in enterprise-level hardware to the masses, and provide a value level not reached by any other provider's offerings.

What is a Hybrid Server?

A hybrid server is a combination of a powerful enterprise-class server with virtualization technology. We start with a dual processor quad-core Xeon Harpertown SuperMicro server with Fully Buffered memory and a Hot-Swap SATAII RAID-10 disk array and then use Virtuozzo to partition the server into seperate Hybrid server environments. Each Hybrid environment is securely isolated and has guaranteed resources available to it which ensures a high level of performance and responsiveness. A Hybrid server combines all of the benefits of virtualization technology with the performance of a full dedicated server.

Value, Performance, Reliability

Performance of our fully managed Hybrid servers goes beyond that of low-end managed dedicated servers, at a price which cannot be beat. When compared to single processor Celeron solutions, the tremendous value is apparent. Our hybrid servers feature enterprise-level hardware and hot-swap RAID drives which are not available on low-end servers in this price range. Combined with WiredTree's complete managed support this offering is a perfect balance of price, performance, and reliability.

Hardware

WiredTree uses only the highest quality server-grade components. Our Hybrid servers use Dual Xeon Harpertown CPUs, the current leader in enterprise processor performance. Combined with fully buffered ECC memory and SuperMicro motherboards, the performance and reliability of the hardware is unmatched. To ensure a high level of disk throughput and redundancy, we use SATA II drives w/ NCQ in a battery-backed RAID-10 configuration on each system.
